Commercial Cultivation of Chaga
Chaga grows on living birch trees and has steadily gained interest in the scientific and medical communities for its wide range of health benefits. Chaga only occurs naturally in roughly 1 out of every 20,000 birch trees. The demand for Chaga, more importantly the medicinal constituents extracted from it, is greater than nature can supply.
THE SOLUTION:
We are widely known as "The Chaga Farmers" and we cultivate Chaga commercially in living birch trees by implanting a small wooden Chaga plug, like a seed, into viable selected trees. We partner with private and commercial landowners of all sizes (from 5 acres - 4,000 acres) that have birch on their land, using each plot as a surrogate to grow Chaga, called a Chaga Farm. We create a renewable and sustainable source of income for our forest owners by contracting to purchase all of the Chaga back. This is called a Mycoforestry Investment Opportunity (MIO).

How It Works
1. We first speak on the phone and discuss Chaga Farming to answer all questions.
2. You invite us to your land to assess your forest for Chaga Farming viability.
3. You invest by purchasing OUR DOWELS THAT ARE MADE IN A MAINE LABORATORY AND CERTIFIED USDA ORGANIC.
Yellow and white birch with a minimum diameter of 4" are "seeded" with no more than 5 Chaga dowels per tree.
Chaga takes 5-7 years before it's ready to harvest.
Each Chaga dowel produces 3 harvest over 15-18 years.
4. We provide yearly Chaga farm check-ups to monitor the health and growth of the Chaga.
5. We harvest all of the Chaga and buy it back from you at a minimum market rate of $5 per lb.
It's a simple and zero maintenance way for you to profit from your forest without selective or clear cutting.
Brief History
The artificial inoculation of Chaga dowels into living birch trees has been studied for many decades around the world, each time fine tuning the process and increasing the yield. The United States Chaga market is currently a $2b market. However, 100% of that market is imported from other countries, like China and Russia, and is not grown on living birch trees, but rather in a laboratory. Only Chaga grown on living birch trees contain the high level of medicinal compounds that are of great value to the natraceutical, pharmaceutical, health and wellness, cosmetics and food and beverage industries.
